Below is a break down of each challenge. These challenges are a part of phase 1 of the Summer of BioBall. Participants have until August 31st to submit results for any or all of the below challenges. Your team's seeding for phase 2 will depend on the amount of point you earn in phase 1.
Your teams total will be comprised of the top 3 Special Olympics Massachusetts athletes and the top 3 Biotech employees.
Note: you may complete each challenge as many times as you'd like to improve your score. Photos/Videos are not required for submission unless stated otherwise.
Shooting Challenges:
Time: 3 minutes per drill
Format: 1 ball. Rebound your own shots, or have someone rebound for you
Scoring: 1 point per shot
Shooting Challenges Include:
Layups
Free Throw Hot Shots (15 feet away)
3-pointers
Time: 1 minute each
Format: please see instructional videos below
Scoring: 1 point for each full rotation
The Handling Drills Include:
Around the waist
Figure 8
Dribble figure 8
Time: 2 minutes
Format: Dribbling back and forth from a distance of 25 paces
Scoring: 1 point for each length completed
Time: 1 minute per drill

Scoring: 1 point per activity
Exercise Contests Include:
Push ups
Jumping jacks
Burpees
Video submission required.
Time: N/A
Format: Adjust a basketball hoop to any height, and use any size ball. If you do not have access to a basketball hoop, you may use a make shift of any kind.
Scoring: Top 3 dunks get 3, 2, or 1 point(s) for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The dunks will be voted on by a BioBall panel
Video submission required.
Time: Up to your discretion
Format: Submit 1 video per team. Show off your video skills with the best team introduction.
