While BioBall has always been a one-day event, the mission of supporting over 14,000 Special Olympics athletes with intellectual disabilities is a constant endeavor. What better way to demonstrate that than combining BioBall with our annual Summer Games weekend, a showcase of events where historically 2,000 athletes compete in Track and Field, Tennis, Gymnastics, Powerlifting, and Volleyball.
Starting in the early afternoon and going through early evening, we will welcome 8 unified teams who will participate in a life sciences corporate challenge. The challenge will include the anchor sport of Basketball with skills/drills and team competitions but also other challenges will be added such as cornhole, disc golf, and maybe even an obstacle course. More to come on this as we get closer!
The event is sponsored by all of the providers that support the local biotech community with all of the proceeds going to benefit Special Olympics Massachusetts.
