Special Olympics athletes do not just show up and receive a medal. They train throughout the season, compete in local and regional competitions, and ultimately rise to the State, National, and International level based on their skill and personal determination. By joining the Xtra Mile B.A.A. 5K team, you are helping to support athletes with intellectual disabilities thrive through the power of sport. Now more than ever, fundraising is crucial for our athletes to continue to practice safely, locally, and with the right PPE equipment.
By joining the Xtra Mile team and fundraising $500 or more, you will receive a bib to run the B.A.A. 5k on Saturday, April 16, 2022. This is the ONLY way to be a part of the B.A.A. 5k (and get the gear and medal) without registering for the whole medley! You are required to reach the $500 fundraising goal by Friday, April 15, 2022. If you need fundraising support, that's what we're here for! Check out our fundraising toolkit for all sorts of ideas to fundraise during a pandemic. Or, contact us if you need any help.
Please also note that the B.A.A. is requiring that all participants "show proof of vaccination prior to participating in the April 16, 2022 race." You can read more here.
