Winter Weather Details (updated 2/2/23)

Well, it looks like we won't be braving the cold on Saturday after all. Over the last 48 hours, the forecast has worsened quite a bit, so in conjunction with the recommendations of our public safety partners in Acton, we'll be postponing the Polar Plunge.

The good news is, you won't have to wait long to plunge in Nara Park! We're postponing to Sunday, February 5th. Same timeframe. Same location. Same reason for freezin'. Much warmer temps!

If Sunday, February 5th doesn't work for you, let us know and we'll help you transfer your registration to another event, or if you'd prefer to plunge D.I.Y., feel free! If you need some D.I.Y. ideas, we'll share a few of our favorites from the last few years.

Thanks for your understanding, and of course, for your commitment to Special Olympics Massachusetts. We're so excited to Plunge with you on Sunday!

Email us at [email protected] if you have any questions.

Event Location

Location: Nara Park (25 Ledge Rock Way, Acton)

Parking: Plenty of spots available in the parking lot next to the Bath House and beachfront.

Event Schedule for Plunge Day (updated 2/2/23)

Registration/Check-in begins at 11:00AM - 11:45AM. This will take place in the Bath House. You'll check-in to let us know you're here, and hand in any donations you've collected. If you've raised $100 or more, we'll have a Polar Plunge shirt for you. Anyone under the age of 18 will need a parent or guardian with them to sign a waiver.

Plunge Program at 11:45AM - 11:55AM. This will take place in the Pavilion next to the Bath House, which is covered and will have propane heaters. We'll have a very brief Welcome Program, congratulate our Top Fundraiser and Top Fundraising Team, and go over a few safety guidelines for plunging.

Plunge at the Beach at 12:00PM. You'll have your choice of how you plunge (in the lake, splashed by a bucket of water, or staying dry). We'll be encouraging everyone to head back to their cars once they plunge and go warm up at home.

Contact [email protected] with any questions.
